Hair salon booking software in India: the 2026 comparison
Search for salon booking software in India and the results fall into two buckets: software directories that rank vendors by who pays them for leads, and "best salon software in India" articles published by the vendors themselves, who, without exception, rank their own product first. That is their right, but it means an Indian hair salon owner comparing tools is mostly reading sales pages. Add pricing pages that hide the price behind a demo form, international pages that show a different currency to every visitor, and WhatsApp as the one channel clients actually read, and the comparison a salon in Pune or Jaipur really needs is one that was checked, line by line, on each vendor's own website.
This one was. Every price and claim below was verified on the vendor's own pages in October 2026, with the currency each page actually displayed to us named every time. And since this article is published on the blog of ViteUneCoupe, free, commission-free booking software for hair salons, we are not neutral either. So we do what the ranking pages never do: we open the detailed reviews with our own product's honest limits for India, starting with the fact that our reminders go by email only, in a market where WhatsApp rules, and that our paid plan is billed in euros, not rupees.
What matters when you choose salon software in India
Four local realities that imported "best salon software" listicles skip.
WhatsApp is the reminder channel. Indian clients confirm, cancel and reschedule on WhatsApp, so almost every Indian-built tool leads with WhatsApp automation, usually through the WhatsApp Business API. Read the fine print though: "WhatsApp included" can mean automation in the base plan, a higher tier (Salonist reserves it for its Advance plan), or a paid add-on on top of the subscription (Invoay sells the WhatsApp Business API as an add-on). SMS still exists as a fallback, and in India it runs under TRAI's DLT registration regime: the sender header and message templates must be registered, which established vendors handle for you, but ask in writing who pays the per-message charges. Our guide to appointment reminders for Indian hair salons compares the channels properly, including where plain email still earns its keep.
GST billing is a software feature here. The Indian suites compete on GST-compliant invoicing: tax-inclusive and tax-exclusive pricing, HSN/SAC codes on bills, GST reports for filing. If your salon bills under GST, a tool that produces compliant invoices saves real accountant hours; if you are under the registration threshold, you may be paying for machinery you do not need. What GST actually requires from a hair salon, thresholds included, is its own topic, covered in our guide to GST for hair salons in India.
Geo-localised and hidden pricing. International vendors show whatever currency matches the visitor's location: checking from Europe in October 2026, Fresha showed us euros and Salonist showed US dollars, and neither displayed a rupee grid to us. Several Indian vendors go one step further and publish no prices at all: DINGG, Zenoti, Easy Salon and Respark all sell by demo or quote. The figures in this article are what each page displayed to us, currency named every time: open the pricing page from your salon in India, or get the quote in writing, before you sign.
Appointment software is not a POS. Most Indian tools in this comparison are full management suites: POS billing, GST invoicing, inventory, staff commissions, memberships, sometimes payroll. A few, ours included, only manage appointments. Neither is wrong, but comparing a free booking page against a suite quoted at thousands of rupees a month on price alone is comparing a chair to a salon fit-out. Decide first which job you are hiring the software for.
How we compared the software
The same questions put to every vendor:
- the subscription price, in the currency the vendor actually showed us, with the date we checked;
- commission taken on bookings, if any;
- reminder channels: WhatsApp, SMS or email, and automatic, tiered or an add-on;
- the contract: monthly, annual, or quote-only;
- local fit: rupee billing, GST invoicing, UPI at the till, local support;
- your data: can you export your client list when you leave?
A subscription, a commission per booking, a per-message charge and a WhatsApp add-on are four different kinds of cost, and tools mix them freely. We do the full maths, with worked rupee examples, in our guide to the real cost of salon software in India.
All figures below were checked in October 2026 on each vendor's official website. Prices change and pages geo-localise: always confirm before you sign.
Comparison table: what Indian hair salons actually pay
Currency note: each row shows the currency that vendor's page displayed to us in October 2026, which for the international tools was not rupees.

Now the detail, starting with our own product so you know exactly where we stand.
ViteUneCoupe: free and commission-free, with the India limits stated first
The honest limits before anything else. Reminders go by email only: no WhatsApp and no SMS, on any plan. In India, where clients live on WhatsApp, that is a real gap, and the local suites handle that channel better. The subscription is billed in euros, not rupees: the ₹ equivalent moves with the exchange rate and your card may add a foreign-currency fee. The public booking page currently shows service prices with a euro symbol, so many Indian salons will prefer to keep the detailed ₹ price list on their own menu or in the service descriptions, which are free text. And there is no money management at all: no UPI, no POS, no GST invoicing, no inventory, no payroll, because ViteUneCoupe manages appointments, not money. A salon that wants one system for billing, tax and bookings should look at the Indian suites below. The interface is in English (and French), with no Hindi or regional-language option.
What you get, permanently free: unlimited online bookings with 0 % commission, a personalised booking page for your hair salon, your service catalogue, staff schedules, a client database that stores +91 numbers normally, and your calendar. It is a real free plan, not a trial: no card details, no countdown, no booking cap.
The Standard plan, from 29 € excl. tax per month with no commitment, adds automatic emails (booking confirmation, a reminder before the appointment, a thank-you afterwards) and ICS calendar sync with Apple, Google or Outlook calendars. Anti no-show protection by bank card hold is announced as coming soon in a Standard + Anti No-Show plan at 49 € excl. tax per month; until it ships, reminders and a clear cancellation policy are what cut no-shows in an Indian hair salon today.
Who is it for? The solo stylist or small salon that wants 24/7 online booking at zero cost with zero commission and no contract, keeps billing exactly as it is (cash, UPI QR, card machine, your GST invoicing untouched), and accepts email rather than WhatsApp reminders.
Salonist: a published grid, in dollars, with a marketplace fee to understand
Salonist publishes what most of its Indian rivals do not: an actual price grid. Checked on salonist.io's pricing page in October 2026, the page geo-localised and showed us US dollars: a free Marketplace Listing plan capped at 50 appointments a month, then Essential at $59, Advance at $109 and Expert at $179 a month, each with unlimited staff, a 7-day trial without a card, free data migration, and cancellation by email with no notice. POS and sales reports arrive with Essential; inventory, loyalty and the unlimited SMS and WhatsApp reminders arrive with Advance.
Two things to read with open eyes. First, the currency: we could not retrieve a rupee grid, so open the page from India or get your ₹ figure in writing. Second, the marketplace fee, which Salonist states plainly: if a brand-new client discovers you through the Salonist marketplace, it charges 15 % of that first visit, once, and everything else is commission-free. That is a far more honest structure than hidden lead fees, but price it consciously against what your own booking page brings in for free.
Who is it for? The multi-staff salon that wants a suite with published prices, unlimited staff on every tier, and WhatsApp automation, and will confirm its rupee pricing before signing.
MioSalon: salon-specific and commission-free, but ask for the number
MioSalon is one of the most salon-specific tools of the Indian field: appointment scheduling with SMS and email reminders, POS checkout, GST configuration with inclusive and exclusive tax, inventory, client and staff management, and marketing tools. Checked on miosalon.com's pricing page in October 2026: three tiers (Standard, Premium, Premium Plus), a free trial with no card, an explicit no-commission promise for new and existing clients, and a pay-as-you-go model with no cancellation fees.
The gap is the price itself. The pricing page names the tiers but publishes no figures: its own FAQ says the price varies based on the country and points you inside the application. That is not a red flag, but it moves the work to you: get the total first-year cost for your tier, the SMS pack rates, and the renewal price in writing before you commit.
Who is it for? The salon that wants a dedicated salon suite with GST billing and no commission, and does not mind asking for the price instead of reading it.
Invoay: rupee pricing from ₹24 a day, WhatsApp as an add-on
Invoay is POS-first software for Indian salons, and it is one of the few to put a rupee figure on its own site: checked on invoay.com's rupee pricing page in October 2026, plans start at ₹24 a day, which works out around ₹8,760 a year, across three editions (Start, Grow, Expand), typically on annual contracts, with no onboarding or setup fees advertised. The feature set is the full Indian till: GST billing, inventory, customer management and memberships.
Read the messaging lines twice. SMS notifications run on prepaid credits, and the WhatsApp Business API is a paid add-on, not part of the base subscription: the ₹24-a-day headline is the entry edition, not the WhatsApp-automated total. Ask for the full grid, the add-on prices and the credit rates in one written quote.
Who is it for? The billing-led salon that wants an Indian POS with GST invoicing at a published rupee entry price, and will price the WhatsApp add-on into the total before comparing.
Zylu: rupee-billed with WhatsApp API included, but the grid hid from us
Zylu is Indian-built salon software with four plans (Lite, Grow, Standard, Premium), monthly or yearly, and its pitch includes the WhatsApp API in the product rather than as an extra, alongside online booking, POS and attendance tools. Checked on zylu.co's pricing page in October 2026, the India offer is clearly rupee-based: a 14-day trial at ₹99, an optional done-for-you setup at ₹1,999 + GST, and a 14-day full-refund guarantee on annual subscriptions.
The honest caveat is ours as much as theirs: the plan grid did not render retrievable price figures for us, so we will not repeat second-hand numbers. The trial at ₹99 is cheap enough to be the real test: load your services, send yourself a WhatsApp reminder, and get the plan price and add-on list in writing during those 14 days. Zylu also publishes its own "best salon software in India" ranking with itself on top; treat that page, like this one, as a vendor talking.
Who is it for? The salon that wants rupee billing and WhatsApp automation included, and is happy to confirm the plan price through the ₹99 trial.
DINGG, Zenoti, Easy Salon and Respark: ask for the number in writing
Four more names come up in every Indian shortlist, and all four make you ask for the price. DINGG (Pune) is a serious all-in-one for salons and chains, with WhatsApp automation, POS, GST billing and multi-location reporting, but its site sells by demo and publishes no price grid; the monthly figures circulating in directories and blog posts are not confirmed on its own pages, so treat them as rumours. Zenoti is the enterprise platform of the field, built for large chains and franchises; its pricing page is explicit that quotes are customised, and a single-location hair salon is not who it is priced for. Easy Salon advertises a WhatsApp receptionist that books appointments and sends GST bills, with inventory and loyalty behind it, but publishes no prices and sells by demo. Respark (Pune) is a newer suite in the same mould, also without a public price grid on its own site.
Quote-only is not a scam, it is a sales model, but it shifts the work to you: get the total first-year cost in rupees, the renewal price, the contract length, the WhatsApp and SMS terms, and a test client-data export in an email before you commit.
Fresha: the international marketplace, with homework to do
Fresha runs the largest international salon marketplace with a presence in India, listing around 254 hair salons on its India hair salon pages when we checked in October 2026. That consumer audience is Fresha's real asset, though in India it is thin compared with the metros of its core markets.
The homework is the pricing. When we checked fresha.com/pricing in October 2026 the page geo-localised to our location and showed euros: an Independent plan at 14.95 € a month, a Team plan at 9.95 € per team member a month, a 7-day trial, 20 free messages a month then metered per message, and payment processing fees on top. We could not retrieve a rupee grid, so any ₹ figure you read in a listicle is someone's conversion, not Fresha's price, and whether its payment processing operates for Indian salons at all is something to confirm directly. The marketplace new-client fee has also been described differently by Fresha's own pages and third-party writeups over time, so get your current Indian terms in writing before relying on any version. More broadly, a marketplace lists you next to your competitors and owns the client relationship in ways your own booking page does not: we weigh that trade-off in direct bookings versus marketplaces for Indian hair salons.
Who is it for? The salon in a metro where Fresha's Indian audience actually browses, that has confirmed its rupee pricing, payment terms and new-client fee in writing.
Skip these: names that do not operate in India
A reliable test of an imported listicle is whether it recommends tools you cannot buy. As checked in October 2026: Square Appointments depends on Square's payment infrastructure, and Square's own availability page lists the eight countries it supports, India not among them. Booksy, Vagaro and GlossGenius did not offer India among the markets presented on their own sites when we checked in October 2026 either; if one of them has since opened an Indian offer, its own pricing page, opened from India, is the only proof worth accepting. If a "best salon software India" page recommends any of these without addressing availability, it was not written for you.
How to choose: four Indian salon situations
You work alone and want zero fixed cost. The real zero-rupee starting points are ViteUneCoupe's free plan (unlimited bookings, 0 % commission, no cap, euro-priced only if you later upgrade) and Salonist's free Marketplace Listing (capped at 50 appointments a month, with the 15 % first-visit fee on marketplace-sourced clients). Test with real clients before paying anyone.
You want automatic WhatsApp reminders above all. That means an Indian paid tool: Zylu includes the WhatsApp API, Salonist unlocks WhatsApp at its Advance tier, DINGG and Easy Salon build around WhatsApp but price by demo, and Invoay sells the WhatsApp Business API as an add-on. Whatever you pick, have the quote state the WhatsApp cost separately from the subscription.
You want one system for bookings, POS and GST billing. Shortlist the Indian suites: MioSalon, Invoay, DINGG, Salonist, Easy Salon, and Zenoti if you are a chain. Make each one demonstrate a GST invoice and a client-data export during the trial, and get every add-on (WhatsApp, SMS credits, extra branches) itemised in one written quote.
You just want fewer empty chairs this month. Before buying anything, fix the basics: online booking that works at 10 pm, automatic reminders on a channel your clients read, and a cancellation policy clients actually see. A free booking page plus disciplined reminders removes most of the problem before a single rupee is spent.
Frequently asked questions
How much does hair salon booking software cost per month in India?
As checked on vendor sites in October 2026: from ₹0 (ViteUneCoupe's free plan, Salonist's capped free listing) through Invoay's advertised entry at ₹24 a day (about ₹730 a month), up to Salonist's paid tiers shown to us at $59 to $179 a month. MioSalon, DINGG, Zylu's plan grid, Easy Salon, Respark and Zenoti price by country, demo or quote, so get your rupee figure in writing. Fresha showed us euros, not rupees.
Which salon software sends automatic WhatsApp reminders in India?
Among the tools we verified in October 2026: Zylu includes the WhatsApp API in its product, Salonist includes WhatsApp reminders from its Advance tier, and DINGG and Easy Salon advertise WhatsApp automation with demo-only pricing. Invoay offers the WhatsApp Business API as a paid add-on. MioSalon advertises SMS and email reminders. ViteUneCoupe sends email reminders only, with no WhatsApp or SMS on any plan.
Is there genuinely free salon booking software in India?
Yes, two different kinds. ViteUneCoupe's free plan has unlimited online bookings, 0 % commission and no trial clock; it earns money only when a salon upgrades to the paid email-reminder plan. Salonist's Marketplace Listing plan is free but capped at 50 appointments a month, with a 15 % one-time fee on a new client's first visit from its marketplace. Most Indian suites offer free trials or demos, which are not free plans.
Why is Square Appointments or Booksy not on this list?
Because they do not operate in India. Square's own availability page lists the countries it supports and India is not one of them, and Booksy, Vagaro and GlossGenius do not offer India among their markets on their own sites, as checked in October 2026. Lists that recommend them to Indian salons have not checked availability.
Does ViteUneCoupe work for a hair salon in India?
Yes, with its limits stated upfront: reminders are sent by email only, never WhatsApp or SMS, the subscription is billed in euros so the ₹ amount moves with the exchange rate, the booking page currently shows service prices with a euro symbol, and there is no UPI, POS or GST invoicing. The free plan works normally for Indian salons: unlimited online bookings, 0 % commission, a personalised booking page, a client database with +91 numbers, and staff schedules. The paid Standard plan is 29 € excl. tax per month with no commitment.
